The Opportunity

The European Languages - Italian program within the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics seeks to fill a continuing position at Level D or Level E, by an academic who has a dynamic research and teaching profile.

As the successful candidate, you will take a leadership role in the program’s research and teaching and play a prominent role in shaping the culture and overseeing the administration of the school. You will be a distinguished scholar with a significant record of research in any area of contemporary Italian culture. Interdisciplinary and comparative approaches are particularly welcome. You will engage in original and innovative research and help lead the program’s capacity to secure funding for major research projects. You will also enhance the program’s, and the School’s, ability to attract and supervise excellent graduate research students. You will take a leading role in curriculum development and delivery and will be prepared to engage in team teaching. You will also be expected to undertake a share of administrative tasks within the program and the School.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
