About the Role

Swinburne University of Technology has an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate aviation professional to join our Department of Aviation which has a 30-year track record of offering high-quality teaching and learning opportunities in flight training, safety, human factors, and aviation management.

As the Lecturer Aviation, you will undertake teaching, research, course management and curriculum development in your discipline and provide mentoring and support to students on academic matters as well as supervision for undergraduate, Masters and PhD students.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Prepare and conduct classes and tutorials in specified teaching areas in a variety of modes, including face to face, blended and online
  • Maintain, develop and update administrative tools and resources to assist in and/or coordinate the delivery of units, courses, programs and research, and contribute to the effective management of your Department and School.
  • Contribute to the international research strategy by collaborating and publishing with international research partners
  • Supervise research students

Qualifications

  • PhD or close to completing a PhD in a discipline relevant to the Department.
  • Applicants without a PhD may be considered if they have a Master degree with extensive industry experience and are willing to undertake PhD as part of their duties.
