The Department of Management and Marketing at Durham University seeks to appoint a talented individual to the role of Associate Professor. We welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Management with a focus on Business Enterprise and Innovation and we are particularly eager to hear from applicants with a focus on any of the following themes:

Durham University Business School (DUBS) was successful in obtaining £3.5 Million from Charles Wilson (until recently CEO of Booker Group) and his partner Dr Rowena Olegario to support a regional SME initiative called 'Smart & Scale Up' (S&S). This aim of this nine-year funding (starting from 2021) S&S initiative is to 1) Increase in innovation activities across the region, and 2) Support and development of new business models to support digital growth. To address these challenges, the project has identified four themes research themes: Emerging Technology adoption in SMEs; Supply Chains; Leadership; New Business Models. These four themes happen to be existing areas of expertise within the Department of Management & Marketing

The appointed candidate will be working with appointed Charles Wilson Professor in Management for the delivery of the objectives of the S&S initiative. Applicants must demonstrate research excellence in the broad field of Business Enterprise and Innovation. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a track record of working with and conducting research in industry in general and SMEs in particular. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to take a leading role in the development of the Department's research and teaching, and to fully engage in the services, citizenship and values of the University.
