Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that is open, vibrant, and welcomes innovative ideas?

Then join the University of East London as a Senior Application Support & Development Specialist (SITS).

It’s a particularly exciting time here at the University as, under our 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, we’re committed to providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world. And, right now, our IT Services department has an exciting opportunity for a well-organised, self-motivated individual who will play a key role in the development, innovation, enhancement, design, and operational support of our applications. You will have the opportunity to work remotely but may need to travel into our Stratford or Docklands campus when required, which is likely to be around 10 times a year.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team of application specialists and delivery experts, you will play a key role in the operational support and enhancement of the Student System (Tribal SITS). With your highly-developed IT skills and experience, you will effectively manage multiple corporate applications systems within a fast-moving and challenging environment.

We will look to you for contributions to the existing systems developmental roadmap and ensuring operational and developmental activities are planned efficiently, according to strategic priorities. You will also contribute ideas to technical solutions and improvements, as well as collaborating on design.

The successful post holder will have proven relevant experience gained in an agile environment. Significant knowledge and experience in the management, support, configuration, upgrade, and enhancements of Enterprise Applications are also essential for this role. The post holder will be familiar with working in an ITIL-driven environment, and have substantive working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes, and knowledge of Standard Security principles from a system and network perspective.

Some governance experience is also required, including policies and processes for infrastructure, Security, Data Protection, PCI DSS, and Business Continuity.

You will be a positive team player who can pro-actively support activities and has the confidence to progress chase information. With proven ability to work in a high-pressure project environment, you will produce key deliverables to tight deadlines by effectively managing multiple priorities. Excellent all-around communication skills will be just as important as you build relationships with a variety of key senior stakeholders and vendors.

So if you have what we are looking for and are keen to take on this exciting challenge, please get in touch.

CVs without a completed application form will not be accepted.

At UEL we are committed to working together to build a community which values diversity in both our staff and student populations, is representative and inclusive, enabling all to progress and thrive.
