Applications are invited for a Specified purpose (estimated 12 months) post of a Senior Administrator - Admin Support Team within UCD Sutherland School of Law

UCD Sutherland School of Law Office requires a Senior Administrator for the School Administrative Support Team. A key priority of the role will be to provide dynamic and flexible administration support to the School, with a substantive component (20%) of the role being to support the launch of the new MicroCredentials project.

MicroCreds is a first-of-its-kind, four-year programme, led by the Irish Universities Association (IUA) and funded through the Higher Education Authority's Human Capital Initiative, aimed at establishing an innovative system of quality assured and accredited micro-credentials across the seven IUA universities, including University College Dublin. Micro-credentials will provide up/re-skilling opportunities to those in employment and those seeking to enhance their employability, and to drive lifelong learning in Ireland, in close collaboration with enterprise.

Building on existing good practice at institutional, national, European and international levels, the MicroCreds programme will develop a collective national framework for micro-credentials across the universities; build engagement with enterprise for the development and roll-out of the micro-credentials programmes; develop a coordinated `shop window' portal to drive awareness of MicroCreds micro-credentials; market MicroCreds and help learners to find and track high-quality, flexible short courses across the Irish university sector. The ambitious MicroCreds programme will play a central role in delivering on the University's and the broader Irish university sector's strategic ambitions, as well as on a range of key national and European policy objectives.

Working in partnership and with support from the MicroCreds programme, the UCD Sutherland School of Law seeks to recruit a temporary Senior Administrator to support the administration of the School and the launch of MicroCreds programme. The Administration Support Team will provide high level day-to-day administrative expertise to the School, supporting the seamless delivery of academic and student supports in an effective and professional manner. This includes the delivery of a highly flexible, responsive and effective service to students, schools, staff and other key stakeholders to support the collective efforts of the School.

The post will operate in an exciting and evolving environment. The appointee will engage in a range of duties and responsibilities to support the successful implementation and operation of the academic and student support service of the School Support Team including implementation of the USM in the University. Each member of the Administrative Support Team will have a primary area of focus e.g. Marketing & Communications, Research Support, Programme Support, Committee Support, School priority project and/or programme based support, and will have a dotted reporting line to a nominee within their primary area of focus - the focus area for this temporary role will be School priority project and programme based support - including to support the launch and operation of the Micro-credentials programme, to support and administer the development and delivery of MicoCreds - along with supporting and administration of other priority project and programme related initiatives within the School. The Administration Support Team will operate as a team and each member will be expected to carry out admin activities outside the remit of their primary area of focus. This sense of teamwork and collegiality will support a flexible and collaborative environment, enhance the ability to provide cross-coverage for their team members, manage peaks and troughs in workload and facilitate increased sharing of expertise within the team.
