Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems
Co-Lead is a HRB funded programme that is researching the impact of a new model of leadership (collective leadership) on team performance and on healthcare safety. Recent concerns about quality and patient safety in healthcare raise issues about the leadership and management of our health services.
This research programme draws from emerging theories on collective leadership (collective leadership is not the role of a formal leader, but the interaction of team members to lead the team by sharing in leadership responsibilities). In contrast to traditional approaches that focus development on the individual as leader, the approach in this programme of work is on developing the team as a dynamic leadership entity. This represents a radical shift from current practice.
The programme is entering its' final year, having successfully developed and piloted a collective leadership team intervention. The programme is now implementing and evaluating this collective leadership intervention for different healthcare team types in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales. The overall aim is to support quality and safety cultures through the development of a new model of healthcare leadership that is associated with effective team performance.
The purpose of the Postdoc Researcher is to work closely with the PI to deliver this programme of work. This is an advanced academic research role, building on your prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to develop new or advanced research skills and competences, on the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination, the development of funding proposals, and the supervision and mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
PD 1 Salary range: €39,522 - €45,610 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
PD 2 Fixed Salary: € 46,906 per annum
