Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 515461), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experience. They should have strong expertise in non-communicable diseases research, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. An excellent record of publications and/or grants, and research experience in genomics/metabolomics would be advantages.

The appointee will conduct epidemiological research with a focus on omics and genetic data of non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. He/She will develop research programmes independently; write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; supervise junior research staff and students; and assist in administrative, operational and other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
