Applications are invited for a permanent position as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Spanish Studies and a 2-year contract position as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Spanish Studies at UCD.

Candidates must have a PhD in Hispanic Studies. Applications from candidates with a specialism in Peninsular Studies are especially welcome. Applicants must have an excellent track record in research commensurate with their career stage. They will have native or near-native competence in Spanish and proven experience in and commitment to the teaching of the Spanish language in a university setting. The post is within the multi-lingual, interdisciplinary School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics and the candidate will also be involved in cross-School teaching.

The successful candidate will complement the existing team of lecturing staff who have specialisms in literary and cultural studies and film studies. Hispanic Studies at UCD is committed to delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a broad curriculum and we particularly welcome applicants who demonstrate the ability to deliver innovative, engaging teaching. A university teaching qualification, or demonstrable engagement with continuous professional development in pedagogy and pedagogic innovation, is particularly welcome. Salary: 95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar (7943) €55,951 - €88,601 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
