The School of Art & Design is one of the world’s leading art and design schools and has been influencing, inspiring and innovating for over 175 years. The School has a vibrant, forward-looking and expanding research and scholarly community where collaboration and interdisciplinarity are embraced and encouraged. 

From space technologies designed by our Advanced Textile Research Group to ethnographic research with socio-economically marginalised textile communities in rural India and South Asia we are proud of the School’s research impact. Our new Associate Dean for Research  will provide strategic leadership support to the Dean of School on the development, implementation and monitoring of the School Research Plan, and the enhancement of the quality and volume of the School’s research activity.  As a high-profile member of the School’s leadership team, you will working closely with colleagues within the School and across the University to deliver the NTU Strategic Plan and the School’s objectives and ensure the alignment of learning and teaching, research, international and other key agendas.  

The role requires an experienced academic leader with a proven track record and current high-quality research profile in one of the established or emerging research areas within the School. We want our Associate Dean to look beyond current approaches to shape how the School achieves its research ambitions; candidates will need to demonstrate they are innovative in the way they develop new ideas and collegial in their engagement with a broad stakeholder community.
