The role
The University of Bristol seeks to appoint an outstanding academic leader as the Head of its new Business School. To be created from the existing School of Management and School of Accounting and Finance, the new Business School will launch in September of 2022 as a constituent school within Bristol’s world class Faculty of Social Sciences and Law. As for all its disciplines and schools, the University of Bristol Business School has as core to its mission the aspiration to develop world leading research and an outstanding student experience.

As Head of School, you will occupy a key academic leadership position within the University. Reporting to the Faculty Dean, you will lead and manage the school in relation both to strategy and operations.

The appointment will be for four years, subject to renewal and will go hand in hand with an open-ended full-time professorial position.

What will you be doing?

  • Promoting and fostering a culture of continued research excellence.
  • Developing the vision for a world class Business School.
  • Co-ordinating and developing the strategy for high quality teaching and student experience at all levels.
  • Overseeing a great working environment for staff, with an emphasis on staff recruitment, development and retention.
