Come join Swinburne and play an integral role as the Strategic Bid Manager, supporting the development of major proposals for research funding that are strategically aligned to the University’s research agenda. As the Strategic Bid Manager you will be responsible for the project management of research teams working on the development of proposals. This involves drafting bid content, formulating budgets, liaising with industry and other external parties and ensuring bids comply with funding body requirements. You will also oversee the coordination and submission of major research tenders.
It is expected you will work collaboratively within Swinburne Research and closely with other university development and engagement teams in relation to partnering opportunities aligned with the University’s research strategy.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in these key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in actively overseeing the development major funding proposals, tender submissions, business case development, funding schemes or competitive programs with the goal of submitting high quality, competitive proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to write major proposals for funding, including developing complex multi-million-dollar budgets, writing capability statements, and to manage the inputs and activities of researchers in development major bids.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks, develop collaborations and partnerships with a wide range of external partners.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and manage sensitive issues.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

A postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education and training.
