The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University is a research-intensive medical school situated in the city of Al Ain, 160 km east of Abu Dhabi and 120 km south of Dubai. Known as the ‘Garden City of the Gulf’, Al Ain is based around the ancient ‘Burami Oases’ which have a history of settlement going back to over 5000 years. It is a modern city with every amenity and with over 100,000 hectares of trees and plants. English is widely used in the UAE.

The Medical School was founded in 1986 and is housed in a purpose-built state-of-the-art facility with the mission to “train medical graduates and postgraduates of internationally recognized quality, specifically attuned to the needs and aspirations of the UAE and its culture. This is to be achieved by excellence in teaching, research and service directed to the needs of the community”.

Faculty receives tax-free salary, generous leave, and support for accommodation/furnishings, annual airfares, educational assistance for up to three children, and international conferences.

The appointee will be involved in all phases of medical education at CMHS, including curriculum and course planning, lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical sessions and in facilitating problem-based learning sessions.

Minimum Qualification

Candidates for this position must have a PhD or MD (by thesis) and have experience in teaching two or more of the following areas: gross anatomy, neuroscience and human embryology.
