As the Research Support Service Improvements Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead the Research Support Service Improvements Team and deliver continuous improvement across the Research portfolios. If you are someone who has experience in a senior leadership position and enjoys finding IT solutions to complex problems, you will thrive in this position.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • lead a team of 14 staff and report directly to the Executive Director Research Operations
  • improve business performance by leading the end-to-end continuous improvement requirements
  • collaborate with the wider university to assess operational performance and improvements opportunities
  • influence leaders to enact behavioural change to embed continuous improvement practices
  • create a strong continuous improvement culture by building and managing key stakeholder relationships
  • observe and keep within budgets by practicing sound financial management.

About you

  • a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of training and experience is desirable
  • previous experience within a large and complex research-intensive environment
  • demonstrated experience in a senior leadership position, managing a high-performing team
  • financial experience managing budgets, controlling income and expenditure
  • proven success in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff
  • proven experience at managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
