Faculty
The Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities has an excellent reputation as a leading Higher Education provider of creative disciplines and for academic English teaching. These programmes are taught by internationally acclaimed and award-winning academics in the UK – and we are now seeking to extend our reputation through our appointments and campus in Dubai. Our UK Interior Design graduates have gone on to work for some of the best interior design and architecture practices including; Blueprint, SomeBrightSpark, Fitch Design, Faber, Checkland Kindleysides and Leonard Design Architects.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint adjunct lecturers to support the full-time teaching team in the delivery of the BA Interior Design programme at DMU Dubai. You will be joining an enthusiastic team in establishing this programme as a sector-leading, regional centre for excellence. You will contribute to building professional networks, engaging stakeholders and will play an active role in establishing a programme community for students. 

The Person
You will be based in the UAE or the Gulf region, educated to Masters degree level (or higher), and have experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education. You will have proven industry experience - with extensive knowledge and expertise related to at least two key aspects of the core Interior Design curriculum; Design, visual communication, construction technology and practice, design history, theory, heritage, culture and context. You will also need to contribute specialist knowledge and skills in one or more of the programme’s specialist areas namely, design for the following environments; Leisure and Hospitality, Retail, Living and Working from home, Exhibition, Performance, Spiritual and Promotional Events (including Visual Merchandising).

You must be passionate about teaching the next generation of interior designers to challenge their future industry and help make the changes needed to tackle the climate emergency and engender social change.
