Research Assistant, Department of Medicine

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be responsible to work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and his study team to successfully deliver research outcomes in the areas of ageing, stroke and cardiovascular diseases.

An emphasis will be placed on prospective candidates’ abilities to design studies that crosses different techniques involving cell biology and medication interventions.

Familiarity and experience with laboratory techniques including ELISA, PCR, sample processing and/or immunohistochemistry are important requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to analyse omics data and with familiarity with statistical softwares including SPSS or R.  

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. Have a good degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or equivalent from a well-recognized university, with a minimum of 2 years experience.
  2. Able to work independently and in a team, and must have good interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Possess good organizational skills
  4. Have knowledge of common computer applications, e.g. MS office, PowerPoint, Excel, SPSS, “R”, Stata etc

Appointments will be made on a yearly contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
