Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for medical research to assist in the development and characterization of novel anti-thrombotic materials strategies for blood contacting medical devices. We will develop a novel dual strategy approach, using surface morphology to control fluid-surface interactions to reduce flow stresses, and concurrently using selecting grafting of anti-thrombotic biochemicals, to achieve our goals. Subsequently, we will perform a preclinical in vivo study to evaluate the drag reduction and anti-thrombotic potential of the material.
The candidate will work with a team of expert advisors to design and fabricate materials, prepare specific surface nano-morphology, perform selective grafting of anti-thrombotic compounds, and testing the resulting materials for flow mechanics and blood thrombosis response. Once the material is ready, we will continue with pre-clinical animal testing.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science. Experience and expertise in biomaterials and thrombosis biology will be an advantage.
