Full-time, Fixed term

We are very pleased to announce the availability of two lectureships on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. The posts are full-time but we would be happy to consider those wanting to work part-time (0.5 to 1.0) and the appointments will be for three years in the first instance. We are able to offer candidates the opportunity to work across academic, research and clinical aspects of the Course, including supervising doctoral and masters level research in a clinical area of their choice. Those appointed will also have a major role in organizing one aspect of the Course, for example, practice placements, diversity, research or the curriculum. The posts represent an opportunity for those considering pursuing an interest in clinical training.  Ideally we would appoint those with some clinical experience but we are open to considering newly qualified clinical psychology graduates. BABCP or AFT accreditation would be an advantage.

Going forward, we anticipate a mix of working from home and working in the department. It is a really exciting time for clinical psychology, with another substantial expansion of training, and the post offers an opportunity for the person appointed to develop the Course in line with current and future NHS priorities. They will join a friendly, close-knit team of 16 academic staff and three administrative staff who are committed to training high quality clinical psychologists to meet the psychological needs of the population. In addition, the DClinPsy is an integral part of a vibrant Psychology Department, which is ranked in the top 5 psychology departments for research in the country. The posts are designated as a lectureships within the professional practice pathway, which recognises and rewards the applied nature of the work of clinical psychology. The appointee will have the opportunity to develop their interests in applied areas of clinical psychology.

We offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including generous annual leave and training and development opportunities. The posts are based in Egham, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.

For an informal discussion about the posts, please contact the Course Director, Andy MacLeod (a.macleod@rhul.ac.uk) or the Deputy Course Director, Helen Pote (h.pote@rhul.ac.uk).
