The mission of the Centre for English and Additional Languages (CEAL) at Lingnan University, a leading liberal arts institution in Asia, is to enhance the English language skills of Lingnan students and to provide language support to help students succeed in their academic studies and future careers. The Centre provides compulsory and elective English courses as well as organising a range of co-curricular language activities. CEAL also offers courses in additional languages such as Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and French.

General Requirements

The Centre is looking for part-time lecturers to teach courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Applicants for the position should have: (i) experience in teaching EAP/ESP courses at university level, preferably to the students of humanities, social sciences and/or business studies; (ii) at least a master’s degree; and (iii) a qualification in teaching English as a second/additional language.

Preference will be given to those who have experience in EAP testing, such as IELTS and/or experience in learner-centered materials development.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be normally made on a contract of up to one year.
