Post-doctoral Research Fellow

Applications are invited for a Temporary 12 month post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Medicine

The successful candidate will work with the Principal Investigator and a PhD student at The Diabetes Complications Research Centre at The UCD Conway Institute to assess the therapeutic impact of time-restricted feeding +/- biological clock informed PPARα agonist pharmacotherapy in rodent models of obesity and diabetes related kidney disease. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will focus primarily on the execution of the experimental studies and associated analyses over the first 9 months of the position, undertaking thereafter duties commensurate with designation as first-author on an original manuscript describing the outcomes of the study.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Fixed Salary: €39,522
