Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 515348), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Molecular/Chemical Biology, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline.  Research experience in cell signaling, optogenetics, imaging, cell culture, Drosophila, is strongly preferred.  They should also have good written and spoken English skills; a demonstrated track record of publishing academic research papers; creativity; self-motivation with a hard-working attitude; and the ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.

The appointee is expected to carry out investigations in the field of cell signaling programming of cell/tissue fate utilizing and developing optogenetic and live imaging techniques.  Potential projects include but are not limited to: decoding signaling control of adult size, studying signaling in homeostatic maintenance, and understanding fate programing through dynamic developmental signaling patterns.  Additional information about the research in the lab can be found at https://www.johnsonlaboratory.org/.
