Project “ProTechThem: Building Awareness for Safer and Technology-Savvy Sharenting”.
Research Fellow position available to a suitable researcher who can work in an interdisciplinary team bringing together the social and the computer sciences on an ESRC-funded project on risky sharenting practices (when parents or guardians share online private or potentially sensitive information of minors). The researcher will work mainly on a range of data gathering, analysis and administrative tasks, and will be involved in relevant outputs preparation.
We seek a proactive, creative and critical researcher with a strong background on social research methods. Over the duration of the project, the researcher will be involved in extraction of social media data, maintaining the database of extracted files, online questionnaires and their analysis, and digital interviews. While applicants do not need to have previous experience with all these methods, they should have previous research experience with both qualitative and quantitative research. The applicant should have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in sociology/criminology/social research methods.
This post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31/08/2023, starting 01/10/2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
