The School of Nursing & Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Assistant on a joint project with Queens and Marie Curie.

The project ultimately aims to explore how loneliness could impact upon on the health, wellbeing and quality of life of people living with terminal illness as well as their carer’s, and family. The project will explore ideas, which have the potential to reduce loneliness in this group and improve experience at the end of life.

The role requires a research assistant to work alongside QUB and Marie Curie colleagues. The successful candidate will assist the research team in preparing a grant for submission, based on the findings from the initial mixed methods study.

The successful candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter (or application form) should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant social science or healthcare discipline
  • At least one year’s relevant research experience
  • Experience of grant writing
  • Experience of facilitating patient and public involvement in writing research proposals.

This is a fixed term, part time post for 5 months, 0.5FTE.

 Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
