Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Dún Laoghaire `Living Lab' Co-ordinator within UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy

This is a 30-month administrative position on the project "PROBONO - The Integrator-centric approach for realising innovative energy efficient buildings in connected sustainable green neighbourhoods" that will be based primarily in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (dlrcoco).

PROBONO is a 47-partner, EU H2020 Green Deal Innovation Action project under the topic LC-GD-4-1-2020: Building and renovating in an energy and resource efficient way. The project will focus on 2 large-scale Living Labs in urban areas of Madrid and Dún Laoghaire (Dublin), and 4 smaller Living Labs in Porto, Brussels, Aarhus and Prague. The 6 urban areas will make the transition to Green Building Neighbourhoods (GBN) that support a network of positive-energy and zero-carbon buildings. The project will explore both technical and social aspects of this transition, with a focus on building infrastructure, digital/smart technologies (including Digital Twins), citizen participation and co-design.

The Living Lab Co-ordinator will work collaboratively with the UCD Probono team and a core management team for the Dún Laoghaire Living Lab in dlrcoco. The dlrcoco team will be made up of key Council personnel including the Digital Strategy Officer, Climate Officer, the Energy Team, the Senior Executive Estates Officer, and the Programme Manager for Smart Sandyford. The Living Lab Co-ordinator will also work closely with other Probono partners including technology providers.

The work will be primarily office-based, but will require the post-holder to attend offsite events and meetings which will involve some travelling and overnight stays. The appointee will operate in an evolving environment where duties and responsibilities will be subject to review and change over time. The position will start in April/May 2022 and will be located in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire.

Salary Range: €35,000 - €45,000 per annum
Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
