Currently the joint programme of study offers the Bachelor of Business (BBus) offered by the Waikato Management School in Vietnam in either Digital Business or Supply Chain Management majors.

Ngā kōreromō tetūranga - About the role

We have an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated academic to contribute to the teaching and administrative requirements in the delivery of the Bachelor of Business Degree in Supply Chain Management, whilst developing original scholarship and research. This position is based in Hanoi, Vietnam and students are taught in English.

Students can complete their study in Vietnam and receive a degree from there or, if they wish, they can undertake part of their programme at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

Ko waikoe? - Who are you?

Successful candidates will hold a PhD in Supply Chain or a related discipline, be able to demonstrate experience in teaching to large and small groups of students for whom English is not their first language and have an established publication record. An understanding of Vietnam and its culture would be an advantage.

Candidates for the position of Lecturer are expected to demonstrate a developing research profile with evidence of publishing success. Candidates for the position of Senior Lecturer are expected to demonstrate an internationally recognised research profile with a number of quality publications (including some in journals that are highly ranked, as evidenced by rankings such as ABDC at the A or A* level) as well as supervision experience and the ability to attract research funding.

A competitive benefits package is on offer for the appointee (and partner and dependent children, where relevant) which includes a contribution towards accommodation costs, payment for work visa and medical insurance costs and one return economy airfare per annum to return to home country.

The salary will be paid in US$ and amount and level of position will be commensurate with the skills, experience and knowledge of the successful candidate.

The appointment will start in January 2023 to include onboarding before teaching starts in March 2023. The appointment will be classified as a "foreign expert", with employment compliant with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment as a foreign expert with regard to obtaining work permits and visas.
