About the Role

The profession of Physiotherapy at Swinburne University is undergoing a renaissance. Since the successful course development and implementation, with first cohort graduating in 2021, the course is going from strength to strength. As the physiotherapy course and School of Health Sciences develop their identity into the future, we seek an experienced educator and researcher to guide the discipline. Our Horizon 2025 strategy is based on the vision “People and technology working together to build a better world”. Health, and in particular, physiotherapy is an integral part of this vision. Due to continued growth and demand, we are expanding our health offerings, and currently seeking a Professor or Associate Professor of Physiotherapy, who will be focused on providing strong and energetic leadership in education, research, and other professional activities in the Department of Nursing and Allied Health, within the School of Health Science at Swinburne University.

The Professor or Associate Professor will possess a passion to lead, innovate and embrace diversity to enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. They will function as a member of both discipline-based and interdisciplinary teams to help the school and university to take the necessary big strides to reach our moonshots, that underpin our strategic framework.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will have:

  • A doctoral qualification in Physiotherapy or a closely related discipline and be an AHPRA registered Physiotherapist.
  • A strong national and international reputation with a demonstrated track record in research and publications to a high level in areas related to Physiotherapy/science.
  • Extensive experience in undertaking teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated academic leadership ability.
