Position Overview

The Research Services Division (RSD) is part of the Research and Innovation Portfolio and is responsible for providing high quality services and advice at both an operational and strategic level in supporting the University’s research endeavours. In collaboration with College and other Portfolio staff, the Division provides leadership in the operations and management of research and innovation services in support of the University’s strategic goals.

The Research Systems Manager will report to the Associate Director, Research Analytics and Systems. The successful candidate will effectively lead the team to support all enterprise systems managed by the Division, working with external vendors to ensure they are fit for purpose and effectively maintained. They will lead the development and implementation of projects to improve the University’s research management processes and application support services; as well as support continuous process improvement. They will also work closely with ITS to ensure research University systems align with the University roadmaps, maintain architectural integrity and ensure the implementation of sustainable solutions.

This role will suit someone who is analytical and self-driven, who is able to identify issues and keen to contribute to solving them. Excellent communication and negotiation skills will also be critical to effectively liaise with key stakeholders across the University and devise strategies to enable the most effective implementation and operations of systems to support our research community. Sound experience in planning, developing and delivering new or improvements to enterprise systems to meet organisational requirements would be a distinct advantage.
