Associate Professor, Department of Cognitive Sciences

Job Description

The Department of Cognitive Sciences at United Arab Emirates University seeks to appoint an Associate Professor in Psychology. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The position will be of particular interest to those with expertise in the areas of social psychology and/or affective science.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field.

Preferred Qualification

The language of instruction is English. Native or near-native competence is required. Candidates will have a PhD in psychology, ideally in the areas of social psychology or affective science.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

The role holder will be expected to lead on advanced, internationally excellent research, securing high impact research funding, to teach and to supervise at undergraduate and graduate levels, and to contribute fully to academic administration in both the Department and the College.
