This future resilience project aims to provide a robustness-based planning and design framework to guide and optimize the way of future urban development with the goal of improving future urban resilience. This framework will be developed based on a comprehensive multi-layer network, and will include multi-scale-physics climate understandings, modelling methods and design solutions. The numerical modelling work will enable us to analyse the interaction between urban area and atmosphere at multiple scales, and to anticipate the coupling effect of future urbanization and climate change on urban climate, to prepare Singapore and other Asian mega cities to the future climate challenges.
