Overview

The School of Education is one of the largest providers of Initial Teacher Education in Australia with more than 5,000 students. The School produces high quality research and offers a broad range of programs including Early Childhood Studies, Primary, Secondary and Postgraduate Education.

The Role

An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Level B /Level C) position, within Design and Technology Education (and Digital Technologies). The ongoing, full-time position is based in the School of Education and centres strongly on research, teaching and service. The activities of the school encompass research, curriculum, assessment and pedagogy within Initial Teacher Education, postgraduate education and in workplace, community and public education arenas.

The successful candidate will have a strong teaching and learning experience across the learning area of Design and Technology Education. You will share your passion for topics within this learning area to inspire our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The successful candidate will have an established or emerging track record of research including evidence of a high-quality publication pipeline, higher degree by research supervision experience, the obtainment of competitive research income, research network / collaboration, and external impact and engagement.

Key criteria

  • PhD in Design & Technology Education
  • An established or emerging track record in quality research and outputs in Field of Research code 13 /or 39.
  • Expertise, experience and a strong pedagogical approach in Design & Technology in a school setting within the Secondary discipline.

Applicants should possess outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills, with a strong track record of working in and leading teams. University experience and the ability to contribute to other areas in the Secondary discipline would be advantageous.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full-time, ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $102,253 to $120,814 (Level B) / $124,522 to $143,081 (Level C) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
