Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Immunometabolism and Metabolic Medicine in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 513929), to commence as soon as possible for one to three years with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. 

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree, preferably with experience in adipose biology, immunology, multi-omics and/or manipulation of genetically-modified mice.  They should have evidence of high-quality research as indicated by publication record; excellent project management skills; the ability to work independently and under pressure; a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and good coordination, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.  The appointee will work on a research project to characterize heterogeneity of adipose tissues and to identify secretory factors involved in conversion of white adipocytes to brown adipocytes.  Details of our research program can be found at www.sklpb.hku.hk.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Miss Lily Li at lily46@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  Appointment on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
