  About This Opportunity

The Strategy & Entrepreneurship discipline at the UQ Business School is recruiting multiple positions (teaching & research) in Entrepreneurship. at either Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) (Assistant or Associate Professor equivalent levels). 

We invite applications from established and early career colleagues. Colleagues in the discipline investigate contemporary topics in entrepreneurship, such as lean startup, social entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial strategy, business model innovation, and corporate entrepreneurship.

The successful candidate will: undertake research of high quality where they will: have a growing international research profile and seek competitive research grants; contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and further development of the School’s programs; and perform administrative and other activities associated with the School.

About the Discipline

Research and teaching in the entrepreneurship group is driven by academics investigating contemporary topics, including lean startup, social entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial strategy, business model innovation, and corporate entrepreneurship. The group’s research strength is reflected in the top-tier journals published by staff in the last five-years, which include publications in the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Regional Studies, among other outlets.

Our entrepreneurship research is supported by recent grant success from the premier national grant body, the Australian Research Council (ARC), including multiple discovery projects and an ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Innovation in Biomedical Imaging Technology. Recognition for research excellence extends to editorial board memberships at leading journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Academy of Management Review, Innovation: Organization & Management, Long Range Planning, Organizational Research Methods, Organization Studies.

The Discipline offers entrepreneurship teaching in the form of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Majors in the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Advanced Business and Master of Business as well as a specialised Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Entrepreneurship and innovation also feature in our prestigious MBA, which is consistently ranked in the Top 50 MBA programs globally by The Economist. The discipline also shapes the program of the University’s entrepreneurship accelerator (UQ Ventures).

Hosting the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange (ACERE) conference in 2023 is testament of the University of Queensland and Business School’s investment in entrepreneurship.

What We Can Offer

These are Full-time, 100% FTE Continuing positions at Academic Level B,  Academic Level C or Level D. We are looking to make multiple appointments in the areas of both strategy and entrepreneurship.

Academic Level B

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range  $101,533.66- 120,570.86 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $118,794 - $141,067.91 per annum.

​Academic Level C

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $124,378.29 - $143,415.50  plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range  $145,523- $167,796.14  per annum. 

Academic Level D

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $149,761.25 - $164,991.59 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $175,220.66- $193,040.16  per annum.

The following flexible employment options may be available for this role.

Part time/job share; some working from home; variable start or finish times; compressed hours; purchased leave; flex-time.
