Job Description

Software and firmware engineer in Atom Arrays Laboratory

Atom arrays are one of the hottest platforms for quantum computing and simulation today. These involve singly-trapped ultracold atoms held in optical tweezers that can be dynamically reconfigured. The vision of the Atoms Array Laboratory is to solve complex problems in material science using reconfigurable atom arrays and quantum physics. We are seeking a research assistant with software and firmware engineering capabilities, who can assume the following responsibilities:

  1. Implement and debug real-time control of atom arrays using both software-defined radio and streamed arbitrary waveform generators
  2. Investigate machine-learning algorithms for enhanced real-time reconfiguration of atoms
  3. Comparison of machine-learning algorithms against traditional rearrangement methods
  4. Develop and maintain various software and firmware interfaces for device control in the laboratory

Job Requirements

The research assistant should have at least 2 years of experience in software and firmware engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in either physics or computer science.
