At TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Institute of Solid State Electronics seeks to fill the 

Chair (W3) of Biomedical Sensor Technology

at the earliest possible date.

You (m/f/x) will represent biomedical sensor technology in teaching and research and focus on several of the following fields: 

  • Biomedical sensor technology, its device technology and sensor system technology
  • Sensor materials and biocompatibility
  • Modern methods of biosignal processing
  • Sensor data fusion and AI approaches for processing sensor signals and networking them in communication networks.

The chair is involved in basic and advanced courses in the interdisciplinary study program "Biomedical Engineering" to be set up as well as in the subsidiary subject training for further fields of study. You will assume teaching obligations in basic lectures on medical technology, for example in "Medical Imaging and Image Processing", "Autonomous and Cooperative Systems in Biomedical Engineering", "Ventilation Engineering or Technologies for Implants" and will be responsible for the implementation and resourcing of the associated practical courses. The lectures are held in German, but may be offered in English. Your active participation in academic self-administration is a prerequisite and we expect your willingness to engage in collegial interdisciplinary cooperation. Your tasks include the establishment of an independent research profile for biomedical sensor technology, its implementation in third-party funded projects and publications, furthermore the significant participation in nationally and internationally reviewed publications and international conferences, success in raising third-party funds as well as the initiation of national and international cooperation projects. 

We are looking for a dynamic, committed and responsible researcher personality who is internationally renowned in the field of biomedical sensor technology and who, with high motivation and didactic skills - assuming experience in innovative teaching as well as positive teaching evaluations - can also inspire our students in teaching and, through relevant research experience, help shape the profile of our faculty in a future-oriented manner through interdisciplinarity and practical relevance. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG). Scientific activities outside the university are advantageous.
