We seek an enthusiastic Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Animation to lead the BA Hons Animation programme based on the recently established Design Anthropology portfolio in the School of Design.

This is a unique opportunity to join a London-based design school with a vision to impact the world by focusing on sustainable development goals and addressing design diversity and design inclusion issues.

The role is part of the Design Anthropology Portfolio, which focuses on how design translates human values into tangible experiences. Here, the ideas are oriented toward the world of digital transformation and innovation through visual communication, animation, and design practices.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational animation practitioner who has energy and passion for the student experience and be able to work well across multidisciplinary teams. They will also be excited to seek out interdisciplinary opportunities both within the UoG and externally and to agent, cultivate and engage with established and new networks. To complement the current team’s academic portfolio, we are particularly interested in applicants with specialist experience in Traditional Animation practice, Character Animation, Animation Illustration Techniques, 2D and 3D Animation, Concept Art and other related fields with competencies in both analogue and digital.

Most of the vacancy’s duties will involve leading the BA Hons in Animation Programme, including teaching in various settings, online and face-to-face studios; assessment; and pastoral and academic support to students, including supervising dissertations. The post holder will take on the responsibility of undertaking the associated administration and quality assurance related to the delivery of specified modules of the programme.

The successful candidate must have Undergraduate and Post-graduate degree in one of the following: Animation, or other related to JD discipline, Appropriate professional qualification or member of Animation professional Body.
