Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • Completed a PhD for the Level B position or an Honours’ Year or Master’s degree for the Level A position or have been awarded equivalent qualifications or research experience in a relevant discipline (public health, statistics, or geographic information systems).

The roles is to:

  • Conduct and publish, or otherwise disseminate high quality and/or high impact research as a member of a team or independently and produce conference/seminar papers and publications from that research.
  • Contribute to writing up of research findings for publication and dissemination.
  • Contribute to the preparation or, where appropriate, prepare individual research proposal submissions to external funding sources.
  • Acquire research data and interpret results, e.g., on alcohol and gambling related harm. Run analyses using specified and agreed techniques and models. Contribute to the development of techniques, models, and methods for analysing key research questions for both projects.
  • Conduct analysis and write-up of alcohol, family violence, assault, and child protection data.
  • Conduct analysis on associations among alcohol, tobacco and gambling expenditure and consumption data.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the classification and scope of the position as required by the supervisors Anne-Marie Laslett and Jason (Heng) Jiang.
