Background
The School has over 2,500 students enrolled for the Bachelor of Laws, the Graduate Diploma in Law (which originated at City), Master of Laws, PhD, and barrister and solicitor vocational training programmes. Our academic and professional programmes are, for the first time, housed together in a new building.

A large majority of the School's academic staff are, or were, practising lawyers and many are leaders in their academic and professional fields. During the next five years, the School will increase the number of academic staff significantly. This will allow increased capacity for research, education and a strong focus on our students' experience. This is an excellent opportunity for outstanding candidates to join The City Law School at an exciting time in its history.

Responsibilities
The School is seeking to appoint the following roles:

  • Three Lecturers/Senior Lecturers to assist with the delivery of the Legal Practice Course and/or contribute to the development of the new SPP. These are fixed-term appointment, initially for a 12 month period.

Person Specification
The successful candidates will be a qualified Solicitors and will have a good academic background (honours degree or equivalent), together with experience of professional practice as a Solicitor and/or a proven track record of excellence in delivering outstanding education and contributing to a high-quality student experience.

For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, candidates will be able to demonstrate significant experience in legal practice and/or of delivering excellent education with course administration and course design and development.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer curriculum development experience and who are motivated to develop new course offerings.
