The School of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Greenwich has seen a period of exceptional growth and success in recruiting students to our RICS, CIOB, IOSH and BOHS Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.  We are seeking a number of well-qualified academics / practitioners with proven teaching and research experience to contribute to and support the delivery of our range of programmes in the areas of Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Health and Safety, Real Estate and sustainable design and engineering.  Currently, we are looking for five individuals to join our school, all posts are initially to be filled at Lecturer level, but for exceptional candidates Senior Lecturer may be offered.  Given our recent success in the 2021 REF exercise we wish to maintain our research driven and informed teaching provision and are looking for advanced teachers / researchers / practitioners for to join us for this and all our roles.

You will have academic and / or professional experience in teaching and / or research experience in the Higher Education Sector, or an established track record of advanced professional practice and research. A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to undertake one would be an advantage.  We are looking for staff with specialisms in, but not restricted to, at least one of the following areas:

  • Quantity Surveying.
  • Health, Safety, and Wellbeing applied to construction, engineering, environmental protection.
  • Sustainability and energy in the built environment applied to mechanical and electrical, building services engineering.
  • Digital construction and sustainable design.
  • Real estate and facilities management of property.
  • Construction economics.
  • Building surveying.
  • Construction property management, property asset management or construction project management.

The Department of Built Environment is located in the World Heritage Greenwich Maritime Campus with all the benefits it has to offer.  The School offers ambitious and highly motivated individuals the opportunity to develop both their research and teaching profiles within a positive and innovative academic environment.
