About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s SCU College one of six academic units at Southern Cross University (two Colleges and four Faculties) and sits within the portfolio of the Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic Quality).

SCU College offers award, pre-degree and English language programs that provide pathways to university study and can transform lives of Australian and international students. The College is distinctive for its care of students and the highest quality of teaching underpinned by scholarship. The College focuses on the development of academic and English skills often combined.

The Senior Lecturer/Lecturer Pathways (Teaching Scholar) will undertake student centred teaching into the award and pre-degree programs as required, both in face-to-face and online modes.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver student centred teaching into the award and pre-degree programs as required, both in face-to-face and online modes
  • Teach and lead units in maths and science within award programs, and other pathway programs e.g. English Language, Preparing for Success and Transition to Uni, as they emerge

About you

You will have an energetic and collegial approach and be passionate about student teaching and supporting student learning. More specifically, you will have:

  • A PhD, teaching qualification and relevant experience teaching maths and science within award and other pathway programs;
  • Experience teaching on-campus and online with a proven ability to effectively adapt contemporary educational teaching technologies.

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at Gold Coast
  • Academic Level C or B:
    • Level C: The base salary ranges from $123,900 - $142,531 per annum, plus 17% employers contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $166,761.
    • Level B: The base salary ranges from $101,544 - $120,179 per annum, plus 17% employers contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $140,609.
