About the opportunity
The School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to research projects in the broad areas of information theoretic machine learning, quantum information theory and communication, and the characterization of misinformation spread in large networks.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- deliver research outcomes and ensure that milestones are met
- work with colleagues and postgraduates within the project
- prepare materials for publications in journals and conferences
About you

- a Ph.D. (or near completion) from a highly ranked engineering school in the areas of information theory and/or machine learning
- expertise in the areas of information theory, machine learning and/or quantum information
- a strong mathematical background and a track record of original contributions commensurate with an early career researcher
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
