Job description

The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

Working as part of a team, this is a unique opportunity to build the next generation millimetre-wave radar systems and work at one of the leading institutions in the United Kingdom in millimetre-wave technology, the Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI), Queen’s University Belfast, collaborating with an international team of academics and industry.

The successful candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter (or application form) should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Hold or be about to obtain (within 3 months) a PhD in a relevant subject; and

At least 3 years research experience which includes demonstrable experience in all of the following areas:

  • RF hardware and antenna design & implementation for radar systems and imaging
  • Radar systems and/or computational imaging and/or compressive sensing
  • Conducting measurements and characterisation of RF devices and circuits using measurement equipment such as vector network analysers and power meters, etc.
  • Using full-wave electromagnetic design and simulation software such as, CST Microwave Studio.

This is a fixed term contract available for 3 years or until 31 August 2025.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
