Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 513935), to commence as soon as possible on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with working experiences. A candidate with multi-disciplinary education background, for example in psychology, communication, gerontology, social sciences, statistics, health sciences or other related discipline, would have advantage. Those with research experience in gerontechenology and/or applying technology solutions to studies are preferred. They should demonstrate strong competency in research design, project management, IT and/or application, data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese for publications.

The Principal Investigator is leading a research focusing on developing an integrated model of carer-centered tech-enabled support ecology for family caregivers. The appointee will contribute to strengthen the University’s strategically oriented research themes on Health Tech, Intelligence, and Sustainable Society and the Faculty’s focus on Cities 2050 and Mental Wellness. In particular, he/she is expected to contribute to innovative scholarship in examining impacts of technologies with a socio-ecological perspective with practical recommendations. He/She will assist the Principal Investigator in publication, preparing research proposal, managing and monitoring the project implementation; communicating with the funding body, project partners and stakeholders; overseeing data collection and data analysis; preparing presentations and reports; and supervising other research-support staff. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with scholars with multi-disciplinary background, service professionals and domain experts. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
