Job Description

  • This position if for Lee Kong Chian School of Business - International Trading Institute (LKCSB - ITI)
  • Student Management
    • Conduct and manage marketing and outreach to prospective students to generate interest in the Tracks- International Trading (ITT) and Maritime & Business Operations (MBOT)
    • Promote and maintain a positive working relationship with students to foster collaboration. The aim is for students to feel that ITI@SMU is a place they continue to associate with even when they graduate
    • Provide technical expertise and input concerning student activities
    • Work and guide the Maritime Merchants Society (MMS) – student club
    • Manage all ITT and MBOT activities
    • Manage Copenhagen Business School Exchanges
  • Industry Partners Management (external stakeholders)
    • Work and collaborate with government agencies (ESG, MPA, SMF, and etc.)
    • Manages industry partners’ relationships to increase engagement and revenue
    • Working with the Office of Advancement the industry partners donations
    • Assist with the organisation of the annual ITI@SMU council meetings
    • Updating of Industry donation records
    • Maintaining of Industry database
  • Collaborate with Faculty, LKCSB Undergraduate Office, Career Centre, Registrar Office, International Office, Corporate Communications, etc. on ITT & MBOT (Internal stakeholders)
    • Work with various offices within SMU on operational and administrative matters (such as, coordinate study trips, track progress of students’ internship, Excellence Award, and etc.)
  • Compiling, updating, and maintaining of data records on ITT & MBOT
  • Support events and seminars
    • Make recommendation and contact suitable Industry Seminar Series and Guest Speakers (non-credit course)
    • Prepare events and seminar materials, such as flyers, registration forms, etc
    • Maintain communications and updates with students and/or speakers
    • Support logistics of events, seminars, and newly developed professional programmes
  • Updating and maintaining the institute’s website and marketing tools
    • Regularly update and maintain the website
    • Create marketing materials for programmes
    • Marketing of programmes on various social media platforms ie, Linkedln, Facebook and Instagram
  • Managing the operations of the office
    • Responding to enquiries from external and internal parties (including government agencies, industry partners & etc.)
    • Handle finance payments and updating of finance records
    • Manage companies’ requests for interns or graduate employments
    • Manage day-to-day operations
  • Assist in any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Possess good administrative and organisational skills
  • Prior experience in understanding the tertiary education landscape would be an advantage
  • At least 2 years of working experience in programme management, experience in undergraduate programmes will be an advantage
  • Good communications (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managing and updating web content
  • Able to design event marketing collaterals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Meticulous, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, mature and able to work independently, at the same time, an effective team-player

Other Information

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
