Applications are invited for a Temporary part-time post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science A Research Assistant is required to support a research project being undertaken in collaboration with the Football Association of Ireland. The Research Assistant position is supported by a grant from Sport Ireland. Grassroots football players frequently sustain injuries. These injuries are associated with significant time-loss from participation in sport, treatment costs, decreased team performance, and long-term negative side effects. In view of these negative impacts, the development of effective strategies to prevent injuries in grassroots football in Ireland is essential. It has been emphasised that for injury prevention initiatives to succeed, an in-depth understanding of end-user (i.e., grassroots football coaches in this instance) perceptions and the specific implementation context in which these initiatives take place is required.
