Applications are invited for a permanent post of a UCD Associate Professor of Infectious Disease / Consultant in Infectious Diseases within UCD School of Medicine

The University and Hospital Group wish to expand academic leadership in Infectious Diseases by attracting an outstanding clinician scientist with an internationally competitive profile in clinical and translational research into HIV and other important infectious diseases. The appointee will join Ireland's largest university at one of the country's leading academic teaching hospitals. Both parties are committed to building collaborative programmes involving the community of academic and clinical staff to further develop St Vincent's University Hospital as an internationally recognised clinical centre of excellence in Infectious Disease Medicine that enhances the quality of care for Irish patients. The UCD Associate Professor of Infectious Disease will be based at the Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research in UCD Belfield Campus and St Vincent's University Teaching Hospital*,* where they will be an academic leader working with colleagues to oversee the further growth of an internationally-recognised Academic Research Centre. They will be an experienced clinician and researcher who will contribute to the further development of a state-of-the-art Infectious Diseases clinical services at the Hospital and across the island. The appointee will have a particular interest in clinical and translational research into HIV and other important infectious diseases.

Salary: Health Service Executive - Academic Consultant Type B (associate professor) Salary scale at the first point in scale or in line with current Government pay policy and commensurate with experience.
