Job Description

The Chemical Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a Master of Science student in the area of applied machine learning in CO2-capture through adsorption techniques. The student, employed as a research assistant for salary purposes, should be knowledgeable in machine learning, statistical data analysis and experimental techniques in adsorption process. The candidate should be able to perform adsorption experiments utilizing solid and liquid adsorbents and analyze the resulting data using machine learning techniques to achieve specific design objectives. The preferred candidate should have a dedicated interest in statistical data analytics, possessing the abilities to perform controlled-experiments and collect the data in an organized manner and have a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering as well.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:

• Skilled in mass transfer and numerical aspects of chemical engineering
• Ability to perform experiments in the laboratory under controlled environmets
• Good technical writing skills
• Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role

Preferred Qualification

• Command of knowledge in adsorption techniques
• Ability to perform extensive literature review and learning new methods in machine learning areas
• Demonstrable willingness to perform and support work in the lab
• Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
• Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace
