Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in Human Resource Management/Organisation Studies in the Department of Human Resource Management and Organisation Studies, within the School of Business and Management. This is a permanent appointment, subject to a probationary period.

This is an exciting opportunity to join leading international scholars in the areas of Human Resource Management and Organisation Studies. The Department has 27 members, a highly collegial ethos and a strong academic reputation in the field. Research interests of members include: international and comparative HRM, knowledge management, employee representation, organisational behaviour, work and employment studies, critical organization studies, responsible business, business ethics, and diversity and inclusion. In terms of pedagogical approach, the department advocates a research-led curriculum, participative learning, inclusion and an orientation to impact and practice.

We wish to appoint a scholar, educated at doctoral level, with an established research profile and with experience in high-quality teaching, commensurate with a SL appointment. Applicants are expected to have a track record of good quality research outputs published in peer-reviewed outlets, success in obtaining external grant funding and the potential to lead research development in the department and school. We are particularly looking for a researcher able to engage with interdisciplinary research activities in line with the university’s research strategy. Additionally, we welcome an interest in challenge-led research that focuses on current big societal problems and seeks to engage with external partners.

The successful candidate will convene, design and deliver courses at all teaching levels. S/he will offer evidence of high-quality teaching in higher education, effective team working, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous personal development. In particular, an inclusive and experiential approach to teaching, with the use of relevant technologies, creative learning techniques and ability to apply research to practice is expected.
