We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer in the Department of Adult and Community Education. Candidates should have a Doctorate in Adult and Community Education (or cognate area) or be nearing completion of their Doctorate. The preferred candidate will develop and deliver new Certificates, Masterclasses and micro credentials in Adult, Community and Further Education and Training in response to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) needs in the sector, including options of in-person, eLearning, and blended learning.
They will contribute to the development of access pathways into Higher Education with a particular emphasis on Community and Further Education pathways. They will create networks across the Adult, Community and Further Education sector with a view to influencing national policy and practice on FET.
Candidates will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage.
The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard.
Assistant Professor / Lecturer (2022): €55,951 – €88,601 p.a. (7 points)
Assistant Lecturer (2022): €35,598 – €62,211 p.a. (14 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
