Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 515035), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biological/Biomedical Sciences or equivalent. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal and communication skills, high motivation as well as a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. Previous research experience in virus-host interaction, antiviral immunity, coronaviruses, and animal models would be required. Eligibility to work in Biosafety Level 3 facility is an advantage. The appointee will contribute substantially to research projects on molecular virology and immunology of SARS-CoV-2. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
