Applicants are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 513939), to commence as soon as possible for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, or a related discipline, with hands-on experience in bulk/single cell RNA sequencing data analysis. Working knowledge of programming language and statistical software packages is a must. Applicants should be able to work independently and communicate fluently in English, and possess good interpersonal skills. A good publication record, and experience in primary cell culture, organoid culture, cell sorting and downstream processing for single cell RNA sequencing would be advantages.
The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team to study biliary atresia affecting newborns, with a view to provide insights into the pathophysiology, and explore new therapeutic avenues to treat or ameliorate the disorder. He/She will employ organoid culture, hIPSCs and single cell transcriptomics technologies; analyse data; coordinate and communicate analysis with collaborators; write reports and scientific publications; and supervise postgraduate students.
