The Department of Applied Psychology (http://www.LN.edu.hk/psy/) is the latest establishment in the Faculty of Social Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team based at the Department of Applied Psychology. The Department builds on the strengths of faculty in the field of positive occupational health psychology, psychological well-being, social psychology, and cross-cultural psychology. In line with the liberal arts tradition of the University, the Department is also strongly committed to providing high quality teaching and a supportive learning environment to students.

General Requirements

The applicants should have a Ph.D degree in Psychology with relevant teaching experience and an excellent publication track record. Applicants are required to provide information on their research grant records and evidence of quality teaching. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. Administrative experience will be a distinct advantage. The appointees should be able to take up teaching duties in master-level psychology courses. The ability to teach “Organizational Psychology”, “Human Relationships and Interpersonal Skills in Organisations”, “Psychology of IT at Work” and “Occupational Health Psychology” is mostly preferred; and ability to teach “Social Problem Solving and Decision Making in the Modern World” and “Applied Positive Psychology” would be an advantage. The appointees will conduct scholarly research, assist in the supervision of student research projects, and perform other duties as assigned. The appointees are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department and the University community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication.

Appointment

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to fringe benefits which include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance. Appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
